New conference connects investors with opportunities in effort to support Puerto Rico's next chapter

A new conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico seeks to find solutions and contribute to the island's rebuilding process next month, with the goal of putting Puerto Rico back on the tourism map, highlighting foreign investment potential, and connecting global investors and others with business and investment opportunities.

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO - 03/14/2018 /EASY NEWSWIRE/ — More than 160 days after Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico, the storm’s wake lingers in daily life on this Caribbean island known for both its resilience and gorgeous beaches.

And as both Puerto Ricans and the global community look ahead, many are taking stock of the new ideas and collaboration required to help rebuild, redevelop, and write Puerto Rico’s next chapter.

A new conference seeks to find solutions and contribute to this rebuilding process next month in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with the goal of putting Puerto Rico back on the tourism map, highlighting foreign investment potential, and connecting global investors and others with business and investment opportunities.

Scheduled for April 24-26, the Puerto Rico Investors Conference will feature three days of speakers, networking, and proven strategies for doing successful business on the island. Hosted by FAR International/LifeAfar, the conference will provide a toolbox for working with Puerto Rico’s present-day reality through tax incentives, investment prospects, and an overview of what investors can expect moving forward.

“We’ve been committed to Puerto Rico because of its tourism and economic potential before Hurricane Maria, and now we’re even more committed than before,” said Sahara Borja, the conference's director, and a leader on the global real estate team at FAR International/LifeAfar. “We’ve been a part of Colombia’s massive rebound, and we see the same opportunity in Puerto Rico.”

Borja and FAR International/LifeAfar have been working to transform the real estate and travel industry since 2007 when they launched their first business Medellin, Colombia. They now have four offices in Bogota, Cali, Cartagena, and Medellin.

“We’re excited to show people what’s possible in Puerto Rico,” said Borja. “We see so much potential in its place as a destination for digital nomads and location-independent professionals, and as one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean. To make this happen it takes all of us coming together and doubling down on investments as the island rebuilds.”

Conference attendees will stay in the historic Old San Juan neighborhood in San Juan, and participate in a mix of city and real estate tours, presentations, and panel discussions.
